KAKADU NATIONAL PARK Is Being Given Back To TRADITIONAL OWNERS TODAY
Big news! A historic ceremony will take place today to formally hand back nearly half of Kakadu National Park to traditional Indigenous owners of the land.
The handback recognises the rights of traditional owners and their deep connection with Country. Today’s ceremony will take place at the Cooinda Lodge, which is the location of one of the four areas being handed back. This means nearly all the land within Kakadu National Park will be under Aboriginal ownership.
