The Rare SILVER-HEADED ANTECHINUS Has Been Rediscovered After It Survived The Australian BUSHFIRES
The small silver-headed antechinus has been rediscovered after the 2019 and 2020 bushfires. These small marsupials are native to only three places in Australia: Blackdown Tableland National Park, Kroombit Tops National Park and Bulburin National Park. They weren’t thought to have survived the bushfires, until 21 of them were discovered living in burnt and unburnt parts of Bulburin National Park in May and June of this year!
Had you heard of the silver-headed antechinus before?
