A NEW African OILFIELD Will Threaten The Lives Of 130,000 ELEPHANTS…
A new oilfield set to spread across Botswana and Namibia is expected to threaten the lives of 130,000 African elephants.
The project is expected to devastate regional ecosystems and wildlife as well as local communities. Water supplies will be jeopardised, while the Okavango Delta in Botswana, a huge pristine wilderness and World Heritage Site, will also be threatened.
The African elephants will also be pushed away from their ancient migratory routes, leaving increased opportunity for poachers to hunt down these gentle giants.
