CORAL Has Been Found To Pass On Climate Change RESILIENT GENES To Their OFFSPRING
Scientists at James Cook University (ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies) and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute have studied a wide selection of coral and their hereditary traits to discover they pass on important climate change adaption genes!
The only issue is that this evolutionary adaptation needs the global warming rate to be steady and gradual, meaning they can’t currently keep up with the rapid changes.
We may not be able to completely halt climate change, however, if temperatures can be gradually stabilised more species will have a chance of adapting and surviving.
