Face Masks Don’t Sit Well With MAGPIES According To Some Experts
According to Birdlife Australia’s national public affairs manager, Sean Dooley, magpies cannot differentiate humans who have face masks on. Intelligent as they are, magpies won’t be able to tell if you’re friendly and trustworthy or not if you’re wearing a mask. Magpies use association to distinguish the good from bad, meaning if they were once attacked or had a bad experience with someone holding a stick, they’ll likely attack everyone holding a stick from then on. Begging the question, if a person wearing a mask mistreats our lovely flying friends, are we all in danger?
