Here Are 5 Facts You May Not Have Known About The GIANT ARMADILLO!
Our Animal of the Week is the giant armadillo! These cute mammals can be found in South America. Specifically Paraguay, east of the Andes Mountains, Eastern Brazil and Northern Argentina. You’ll most likely find them sleeping in their burrows during the day since they’re nocturnal animals.
Did you know they’ve got up to 100 teeth, can weigh up to 54 kilos and grow up to 150cm long? We’d say that’s pretty giant!
The giant armadillo is also a threatened species and they’re very rare. They’ve been listed as a vulnerable species, so there are many conservation flagships in South American trying to protect the mammal.
