The QLD Gov Took Money For A KOALA Research Lab And Built A ROLLERCOASTER Instead…
The QLD Government promised $2.7m to build a Koala tourism and conservation centre at Dreamworld, but after the park delayed the project in 2020, it turns out they spent that money on a rollercoaster instead…
The Dreamworld Future Lab was a tourist attraction first, where visitors could see the koalas, and a research centre second, where scientists could find cures for species-threatening diseases, with the money coming from the Department of Tourism and Industry. However, when international borders closed it was decided that a rollercoaster would boost tourism more than a koala facility, despite the importance of the research.
Do you think this decision was fair? Or would you still like to see a koala conservation centre at the amusement park? Tell us in the comments below!
