The Federal Government has officially upgraded the Koala’s status from vulnerable to endangered in NSW, QLD and ACT. This is following significant declines in koala populations across the east coast due to climate change, disease and land clearing. But the news isn’t all bad. This official endangered status means that governments and policymakers can give koala conservation the attention, resources and priority it deserves.
