Here’s The SCIENCE BEHIND The VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS Near TONGA… And What Could Happen Next.

This past Friday and Saturday, Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai, an underwater volcano 30km from Tonga erupted, forcing smoke 20km into the sky.

The massive exertion of energy caused by the eruption, plus the displacement of rocks and debris, triggered tsunamis that have spread across the Tongan Archipelago.

And while the volcano seems to have calmed, the effects its eruption has had on Tonga and surrounding countries remains unseen.
