@leonardodicaprio is once again helping restore the environment!
His newest collaboration is with @rewild, an environment organisation that aims to restore 25 islands over the next 10 years. Re:wild is kickstarting the $43 million initiative by reintroducing 13 locally extinct native species on Floreana Island in the Galápagos Islands, alongside removing problematic threats such as invasive species and ramping up conservation programs.
“More than half of Earth’s remaining wild areas could disappear in the next few decades if we don’t decisively act,” DiCaprio said in a press release. “The environmental heroes that the planet needs are already here. Now we all must rise to the challenge and join them.”
We love to see environmental leaders like this actively teaming up to save the planet!
