Greenland’s fjords and rivers have been found to have large amounts of mercury which can build up to toxic levels in the food chain!
Researchers are unsure of how such high quantities have ended up in the waterways, however, eroding rock as well as industrial pollution from around the world may be to blame.
Greenland is a major exporter of sea food, so let’s hope we find out how to put a stop to the excessive release before it’s too late!
