Scientists Discover That PAPAU NEW GUINEA Had Their OWN Kangaroo
New research from @flindersuniversity has found that Papau New Guinea once had its own kangaroos! About 5-8 million years ago the ancestors to modern kangaroos hopped over the land that once connected us to New Guinea, before going extinct around 20,000 years ago. While they’re quite average compared to the kangaroos of today, they would’ve been giants in their time, classified as megafauna.
