❤️Craven’s Peak In Queensland Has Been RENAMED PILUNGAH ❤️
@bushheritageaus is an independent not-for-profit that works alongside First Nations people to buy back and manage land. They work to reconnect the land with Traditional Owners, to preserve Indigenous culture and to protect native species. Until now, 233,000 hectares of sand dunes and waterholes in the Simpson Desert has been known as Craven’s Peak. But last week, the reserve was given its traditional name, Pilungah, which marks an important moment in history for us.
